Formation:

Liverpool Ladies Football Club began life as Newton Ladies in 1989 then changing to Knowsley Womens Football Club in 1991 before finally becoming affiliated with Liverpool Football Club in 1994.

Honours:

Northern Premiership Division 2003/2004
County Cup Winners 2003/2004

Recent Form:

Liverpool Ladies were relegated from the National Premiership in the 2004/2005 season. A new manager, Keith Cliffe, brought a new energy and almost saw the Ladies regain top flight status the following season narrowly missing out on promotion getting beaten by Chelsea Ladies in the play off.

Promotion into the top flight National Premiership is the main goal of Liverpool Ladies this season and with two wins out of their first three games the signs are looking positive.

Youth team opportunities:

Until the 1999/2000 season Liverpool Ladies were one of the few National League teams that did not have a youth development system. With mid table status the club knew that the problem lay at youth level and a youth development system was set up in the 1999/2000 season.

The Centre of Excellence now boasts teams at under 12, under 14 and under 16 level building up a much needed youth structure to build the club upon.

Links with Liverpool Football Club:

The Ladies team enjoy full support from Liverpool Football Club and played the 2003/2004 County Cup final at Anfield.
