Ronaldo performed with distinction with Manchester United for six years, winning three Premier League titles in 2006–07, 2007–08 and 2008–09.
After joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 as a 17-year-old, it didn’t take long for him to start turning out for United on a regular basis. In his early days he was deployed more on the wing, but as he matured as a player, manager Sir Alex Ferguson moved him into a more advanced role and he began to score more goals.
United’s first ever Portuguese player, Ronaldo also won the 2007-2008 Champions League, the 2003-04 FA Cup and the League Cup in 2005–06 and 2008–09.
