Definition: A throw taken by a player when a member of the opposition has put the ball over the sideline. The throw must be taken from where the ball went out of play.

A throw must be taken with a player standing facing the field, with feet apart and part of both touching the ground. His hands must be placed firmly on either side of the ball, with the fingers apart and pointing straight ahead. The ball should be taken behind the head and then thrown.
