Definition: The only member of a team who is allowed to touch the ball with the hands. Positioned directly in front of goal, it is the goalkeeper’s job to prevent the opposition scoring. The goalkeeper is only allowed to use his hands in the penalty area, and will be penalized if he uses them outside of it.
