Goal Kick

Definition: The kick taken, usually by a goalkeeper, when the ball is put behind the goalline by the opposing team. It is awarded to the defending team when it has been touched out by an opposition player. The kick is taken from inside the goal area, either played short by the goalkeeper to a team-mate, or kicked long.
