Backheel

By , About.com Guide

Definition: A deceptive move where a player brings his foot in front of the ball and uses his heel to flick it backwards. The backheel is most commonly used to find a teammate, but occasionally players score goals using the technique. Backheels can be risky because it is harder to see exactly who is behind you when playing the ball, therefore increasing the likelihood of losing possession to the opposition.
