West Ham United - Player To Watch - Craig Bellamy

Craig Bellamy
More clubs than Tiger Woods and a bad boy reputation that has followed him like a bad smell from every club he's been at, Craig Bellamy is the epitome of the lack of class of some young modern day footballers. What he does do though is score goals and create them for others and for those reasons there is never a shortage of suitors waiting to take the no-necked Welsh thug when his welcome runs out at his current place of employment.

Intent on building a new club reputation as the most reviled club side in England, West Ham United have added Bellamy to their ranks for the 2007/2008 season after his services became surplus to requirements at Liverpool and he now lines up alongside such fellow bad boys of the English game as Lucas Neill, Lee Bowyer and, still a big possibility, Kieron Dyer.

After losing the in-form skills of Carlos Tevez in well-publicised circumstances, West Ham needed to bring in a player of similar attributes and with bundles of pace and skill and an unerring eye for goal that really should bring more goals than it does, Bellamy was the best man for the job. A word of warning to any new team-mates though - if he invites you out for a round of golf after karaoke, just say no. John Arne Riise can (allegedly) tell you the reasons why.
