Fiorentina have reportedly joined Juventus in the fight to sign Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.
The Chilean thrived in Italy during his time at Udinese, and enjoyed a promising first season at Camp Nou after joining the Catalans in the summer of 2011.
But the forward has been badly out of sorts this season, scoring just one league goal and turning in a series of lackluster displays, despite Barca's domestic dominance.
Sanchez's best work at Udinese came after coach Francesco Guidolin moved the player from the wing into the N.10 position behind Antonio Di Natale in a 3-4-2-1 formation.
But at Barcelona, that central position is occupied by Lionel Messi, and will be for a long time to come, prompting many to question the wisdom of spending US$38.2m on the player.
